OELP DAY #6
Today, we went to the ChenHuangMiao and then Oriental Pearl Tower. Our teacher told us to wear a our neon pink class tee so that we can be easily identified in th crowded ChenHuangMiao.
The visit to the ChengHuangMiao was extremely interesting and fun. We bought many items there, as there was a variety of shops. It ranged from food and sweets to handbags to anime items. Of course, I was the most interested in the anime shop, that sold so many interesting items. I was so absorbed that my friends had to drag me out of the shop. I thought that China wouldn't be selling Japan items because they used to be enemies in the past. However, there were shops everywhere selling their items. ChengHuangMiao sold many other items, and also had Starbucks. The drinks were sold cheaper than in Singapore. However, I think that the ChengHuangMiao is a popular tourist spot because I saw many foreigners there. I think that the shop owners took advantage of this factor, and increased the price of the items sold in the shops. Shops selling handbags, pouches all sold their items at such a high price that we probably couldn't afford half the price. It was certainlyone of the most memorable, interesting and fun place we went to, as we, as a group, had so much fun shopping and walking around the place. I actually expected a temple, as from the word 庙, but I was shocked when I didn't see any around. However, the infrastructure looked extremely traditional and had designs that looked like they were from the past.
We also visited the Oriental Pearl Tower. I was also extremely excited for this, because I had longed to visit it ever since I saw the beautiful night scenery of it during our first day at China, at The Bund. There was an extremely long queue for the elevator up to the top of the tower,

OELP DAY #5
Today, we visited the Former Residence of Zhu ZiQing and the Slender West Lake & 24 bridges.
I feel that the former Zhu ZiQing residence is a very educational place, which represented one of China's most greatly respected man. It also represent China's history, culture and tradition. It represents China's history, because Zhu ZiQing was a man who was extremely loyal to his country, and he died when he starved to death after refusing food and help from the Westerners. This shows his loyalty as he was unwilling to accept help be at the mercy of the Westerners, China's enemy. The westerners took away many parts of China, and had their own rights in China, and thus many Chinese were unhappy with the foreigners. Thus, Zhu ZiQing would rather die, then accept help from his country;s enemy. This can help other Chinese people learn from him as a role model, to be patriotic and loyal to China and support China no matter what the situation is. The residence can also represent China's tradition and culture. It can serve as a tourist attraction as this residence remembers him as one who spread the Chinese culture and it can also introduce China's tradition, culture and history to foreigners. The residence can serve to preserve the way of life back then in the old times, as it is build in traditional times, as a traditional infrastructure of old China.
We also visited the Slender West Lake and 24 bridges. There was a beautiful scenery with clean lakes. I observed many tourists at this location. I think that it is a popular tourist spot and it is an extremely relaxing place, surrounded by nature. I feel that this place can represent China's culture as there are many things there that were preserved from the old China, and made into a whole new place as an attraction. It is an extremely interesting place, as there are funny looking bridges, a place where we could feed birds and they would fly on your shoulder, shops selling a very big variety of items, from traditional looking handbags to toy rubber snakes to fake swords to and electronic massager. I find that this place was really a memorable experience.
OELP DAY #4
Today would be our last day at Shuren school, and it is also the same day in which our class would be performing our performance that we trained and practiced so hard for. Everyone was feeling extremely excited as we were confident that our hard work would be paid off during the performances. When we saw the China students perform, we were amazed by their coordination, which we lacked. It was also very obvious that they practiced for a long time for the performance. When it was my turn as the dance group, I was suddenly so nervous that my heart could not stop beating, and my legs felt like they were going to give way. Although I may not be in the front row, I was still afraid that I will suddenly forget my movements and cause the whole group to mess up. However, after the music started, I did not feel nervous anymore and went along with the dance. I knew that I was not a good dancer, but at least I did not forget my movements. Once the dance ended, everyone rushed off the stage and went to ask our classmates for an honest grading of our performance. My friend told me that we did fantastic, and I felt so glad because we did not waste our efforts to make the performance a successful one. It was truly an memorable experience, as we learnt a lot of values from this time we spent together, practicing hard for this. At first, back when I was in school, when I realised that we were going to include k-pop dance in the performance, I wanted to quit and join another group. This was because I knew that the dances were going to be difficult to learn, and not only that, I knew that I wasn't a good dancer. Furthermore, I was not especially passionate and knowledgeable about K-pop. When we started learning the first dance, Mr Chu by APINK, I almost screamed in frustration, because I couldn't memorise the difficult movements, and I felt that I looked so weird while dancing. However, after a long long time of practice, I got used to it, with the help of my friend teaching me the steps. When I was told that we would be learning another dance, Mr Mr by Girls Generation, I was panicking, as I did not want to face the difficulty of learning a whole new dance. However, I still got through it. Just before the day we were supposed to perform, we had a rehearsal in one of my classmate's hotel room. I was told that we would be learning a new song, and we try to finish it in one day. However, this time, instead of feeling panicked, I felt extremely excited. I was keen to learn the dance and finish it in just one night. After an hour of practice, we reached our goal, and was able to complete the dance. Thus, from the experience, I learned to persevere, to have patience, to try and learn new things, getting out of your comfort zone to try something new. It would add to your experience, and might benefit you in the future.
After we left the school, we visited the XinHua book store. We were all excited to know what kind of books were sold in a bookstore in China. The bookstore was surprisingly humid, and was a very different temperature, as compared to the cold weather outside due to a heavy downpour. Once we entered the bookstore, everyone split into their CID groups and scurried off to different places in the bookstore, with a question that our form teacher gave us: What do they sell here that is not available in Singapore bookstores, and what is sold in Singapore bookstores that is not available here? The bookstore was huge, and there was 6 levels. We observed that In China, the bookstores sold items like Korean, Japanese learning books, music scores, sport equipment and even study tables and rice cookers! However, the items not available here is Malay/Tamil textbooks, <ah boys to men> comics and also the popular English literature book by Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird. I think the fact that they don't sell items of different languages is because China comprises of one main race, the Chinese. China is also not a multi-racial country, and thus, they do not sell books in languages other than Chinese, except for English learning textbooks. Science, Maths, textbooks are all in Chinese. Also, I feel that the fact that bookstores selling sport equipment, study tables and rice-cookers show that these stores actually sell a variety of items, not mainly books and books only.
OELP DAY #3
Today, we visited Shuren school for the first time. I was extremely amazed by the school, because it was so big, and not only that, the design was also very pretty. Along with the school principal, we visited their school garden. On the way there, many students gathered around in their groups and started looking at us. I think that they weren't used to students overseas coming to their school for a learning program. When we arrived at their garden, everyone in my class were so shocked at its size. Not only was the garden big, it was also really beautiful and well-maintained. There were not even a single rubbish on the ground, proving that it is well maintained. Many of my classmates were also claiming that the garden might be as big as River Valley High. There was also a mini waterfall in the middle of the garden, surrounded by a clean and clear pond. We learnt that many of the plants were brought in and grown by the students themselves, so that they contribute to this beautiful garden. Having such a big space for a school's garden shows that China is a very big country, as compared to Singapore. Having such a big plot of land that might be the same size of River Valley High as their garden, shows how spacious YangZhou is. I think that them having a garden in their school shows the school's appreciation for greenery, tradition and culture. This reflects the way of life of the people in China.
We also visited the school's cafeteria for our lunch. I noticed many signs asking the students never to waste food. There were also signs for the cafeteria staff to refuse to keep the food trays if the students waste food and leave food in their bowls to throw. When I was choosing the dishes for my lunch, the chef kept saying "and what dish do you want?" to me, and even after I chose many dishes, he continues asking. I thought that we were supposed to eat this much, but actually, he was just wondering if I would like anything else. Because I realised this a little too late, i accidentally ordered too many dishes and was unable to finish it. Furthermore, I accidentally ordered this dish with tomato and egg. I am unable to eat tomatoes because i would feel very sick in the stomach after eating them. So, I tried eating just the egg, but the tomato taste was too strong. In the end, I was unable to finish even half the bowl. When I was rushing through the food, teacher suddenly said that we spent too much time eating, and thus we had no time left. I panicked, as many of my friends had already finished their food. Thus, i had to throw the rest of my food away. When the helper cleared my dish tray, she looked a little displeased and was hesistant to keep my tray. I felt that this was because the school was extremely strict about wasting food. I think this can also reflect the way of life of the people in Yangzhou, about not wasting items and taking things for granted.
OELP DAY #2
Today is our second day in China, and we travelled to Yangzhou early in the morning. As we were on the way to Yangzhou, many of my classmates slept, some chatted and some used their phones as entertainment. I did all three of the above activities, but when I looked outside the window, I observed that Yangzhou has more greenery, less developed infrastructure and also less high rise buildings as compared to Shanghai. This shows that Yangzhou is a less urbanised city. Also, Yangzhou has more culture and a slower pace of life, and this can be reflected when we visited the Paper Cutting Museum. When we visited the Paper Cutting museum, there were already the paper and scissors prepared for us. At first, I was extremely excited, as when I saw the available designs, I thought that they were extremely pretty, and I felt confident that this was an easy task. However, it was only when I held up the scissors when I felt that I underestimated this task. I cut big holes into the design, and not only that, I could not cut out the precise parts and ended up tearing them into two. I was so impatient because I was unable to cut it as nicely as how the teachers there could. I also saw some friends who were so frustrated that they just cut out the whole face of the cat! From this, I learnt that paper cutting requires time, skill and patience. It can help one be more patient and learn to deal things with a calm mind, instead of being hot headed and impatient. I was wondering, why do we need to do paper cutting with our own hands, causing so much trouble, when we could just use machines to cut instead? I realised that people in Yangzhou cut the paper, instead of using machines, because this way, the item produced would have much more value in it, because it was created with all the hard work, time and effort made by the people. It is definitely on a different level, as compared to the result produced by a mere machine. Through paper cutting, people can also understand, experience and remember the culture and tradition of Yangzhou. At the end of the day, we visited a local supermarket. We were quite amazed at the size of the supermarket, as it was very big, as compared to the ones in Singapore. Almost every single here in China was more expensive than the ones in Singapore, and almost all products found in Singapore could be found here in China. Of course, there were some exceptions. Some items found here in China that is more expensive than that in Singapore were the potato chips, cooking oil and Hello Panda. For example, the potato chips, they were much more expensive than in Singapore, as one small bottle could cost up to 7 Sing Dollars. I feel that they were expensive because most of the chips were exported from overseas to China, and thus, cost more, as they include the shipping fees. I observed that the goods that were more expensive than in Singapore were all imported goods, from America, Singapore, Malaysia and more. There were some items found in Singapore that isn't found in China, which is Dettol. I feel that China probably don't have this goods because there were similar items in the China market that has the same use as Dettol. The government probably wanted to prevent competition, and thus using only their own products for sale. This is because, it would only be disadvantageous for the government, if imported goods are selling way better than local goods. Local products would lose their business, and there would be a higher demand for goods from overseas. This can lead to China having a lower income, as many companies would close down their business, and this can greatly affect the economic growth in China.
OELP DAY #1
Today is our first day of our OELP trip, in Shanghai, China. When we reached the Pudong International airport, there was a lively atmosphere as our class was extremely excited. I realised that the airport was very well developed. It was also a clean and comfortable place. The floor was clear of rubbish and there were also many places for tourists to rest. The design was also quite good, amd the interior of the airport looked extremely pleasing. The airport was also organized and had clear signs on how to get to various destinations.
I felt that this shows the rapid economic growth in China, because with more income, the government can further develop the airport, so that tourists will have a good impression on China, and would want to visit again. With more tourists, China can earn more money to spend on developing the country.
Secondly, we visited The Bund, where we viewed the scenery of the place at night. There were beautiful different coloured lights everwhere, and there were also many people viewing the landscape. Despite this, the place was extremely clean, and this showed that The Bund is a very important tourist spot and thus it is highly maintained. After exploring the place as a group and taking pictures, our class went on a cruise tour. we got onboard a cruise and it sailed on the Huangpu River. The most eye-catching attraction was the Oriental Pearl Tower rising up so high that it could hardly fit into my phone camera. At night, it looked so beautiful because the tower was decorated with colourful lights. There were countless tall buildings, but we mainly saw many banks. This shows that Shanghai is a globalized city, as many people work as bankers. This also shows that Shanghai has a high economic growth as many people overseas would put their money in these banks, and this way, China can earn huge profits. With this, the economy and industry would be more stable and more people would be trusting to put their money in these banks.
Chinese Cultural Festivals in Shanghai & Yangzhou
In Yangzhou, there are many different types of festivals celebrated.- Chinese New Year (Spring Festivals)
Also known as the Spring Festival, this is the most important festival for most of the Chinese People. It begins of the first day of the lunar calendar so the date varies from late January to February. It is a time to visit family, set off firecrackers, give red packets to younger family and eat cake. It is also a month long winter break for students and teachers.
- QingMing festival-- Tomb Sweeping day

It is a time to pay respects to deceased ancestors. It is not a public holiday. The date of the QingMing festival is determined by the solar cycle.
- Dragon Boat Festival

Dragon boat races are held and people eat sticky rice. It is to celebrate the hero Qu Yuan who protested a corrupt emperor by drowning himself. Fishmen race their long boats out on the water and then beat drums and throw rice in order to drive fishes away from Qu Yuan's body.
- Lantern Festival-Mid February
On the 15th day of the Chinese New Year, the Lantern Festival is held. Lanterns are lighted up the streets and people eat sticky rice. It marks the end of the Chinese New Year.
- National Day
This is the birthday of the People Republic of China. It is one of the busiest times for travel during the year since many Chinese get a seven day break from work or school. It is a time spent with family and friends as well as the beginning of a major shopping week. Shopping areas are usually packed with shoppers searching for National Day deals.
Can Merlion be Singapore's National Icon?
I personally think that the Merlion can be used to represent Singapore as her national icon. The Merlion consists of a fish tail and a lion head. The lion head represents Singapore's original name, Singapura, meaning 'lion city'. It is named this way because of a legend that a prince named Sang Nila Utama visited Singapore and the first animal he saw was a lion. Although a legend it may be, it is very popular and well-known in Singapore. The fish tail represents Singapore's origin as a small fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means 'Sea Town' in Javanese. The Merlion can represent Singapore as it is a combination of some important icons back in the history of Singapore. The Merlion can represent the history and the founding of Singapore back in the past, and thus is like a special culture that can represent Singapore. Though there may be other icons that appear in your mind when you think of Singapore's national icon, for example, Chilli Crab, Changi Airport, they are items that we created after Singapore was developed. It does not show the history of Singapore and how she managed to grow and developed as a country from the past.
27/03/15 Reflection
During the Golden Age of the Tang Dynasty, it was ruled by a all-powerful emperor, and thus he initiated several centuries of economic prosperity.Mr Lee Kuan Yew was a great leader who lead Singapore from a small fishing village to the city it is now. It was changed from a third-world country to a first-world country. During the separation from Malaysia, we had nothing, no resources, no support from other countries. However, Mr Lee built Singapore from scratch, enduring and perservering during the hard and difficult times. Singapore is now at its own version of the Golden Age because right now, we have a comfortable living place, satisfactory jobs and a average income and advanced technologies. With Mr Lee's leadership, we had a significant economic growth and was able to sustain ourselves despite not having any natural resources. Mr Lee also made sure that no leading people in the governemnt were corrupted, and thus there is justice in this country. There is no bias-ness in this country, neither of race or religion. Everyone is treated fairly, with equal oppurtunities, in schools, in jobs. Because of this, the most talented people can be brought out, and they can make money to increase the income of Singapore, leading to economic growth. Mr Lee also made sure that every child in Singapore go to school as it is compulsory to have education. With education and advanced facilities in schools, students are able to learn more things and when they grow up, they can find good jobs with high pay, and with taxes, the governemnt would be able to earn money, and use the money to built or improve advanced faccilities in Singapore, to benefit us. Therefore, I think that Singapore is at its own version of the Golden Age.
Reflect on China's economic growth and opening up of their country to international trade. Explain the possible implications on Singapore.
China's recent economic growth has increased significantly, and one of the reasons is because of the opening up of the country to international trade. With the opening of their country to outside exposure, China can be able to obtain products made from the outside world, learn their ideas and improve them. This can ensure economic growth as more products would be traded internationally, and fulfill the needs of the people. For example, food products can be traded from overseas, and used to feed the people of China. Less people would die from starvation, and thus lead to a population growth. With more people around, there will be more farmers to grow crops to sell to other countries, and also more talented people to take on jobs.Implications on Singapore
1) Modern LivingSingapore's economic growth enabled the government to be able to spend money to build modern homes, with advanced technologies and comfortable living. The poor are also able to receive funds from the governemnt for a place to stay.
2) Public Transport
Public transport is also made available to all people from all over the country. With enough money, the government is able to employ more employees for jobs in public transport, and also provide faster transport to another place easily. With the public transport, people are able to move around freely and easily.
Future scenario of Singapore
There will be a big percentage of Singaporeans who are the elderly, and less birth rates, resulting in a decline of population growth. An average adult would have to take care of more elderly, and it requires more money to support the elderly, and thus there will be more competition for high level jobs, and it might cause some to be left jobless and unable to support their families, leading to poverty.
They can encourage more people to give birth, by awarding parents with children with money, or discounts when purchasing goods from stores, having more privilege than others with no children.6th Februaury 2015 REFLECTION
During today's lesson, we discussed the advantages and disadvantages of One Child Policy in China. I encourage the One Child policy in China. This is because, with lesser population, there will be more food for the poor because there are less people to feed. The government is able to import the same amount of food, but are able to feed many more people in the country. Thus, there will be lesser people who have to suffer the pain of starvation, and there will be less famine. There will also be less competition for jobs, and thus, less people would be jobless and left homeless and starving. They would be able to have pay each month and be able to support their families. Furthermore, parents would spend and focus their money on only one child, and thus the child would be able to further his or her education, and be able to be more educated, as compared to if the parents have to share the money spent on two children. Thus, there will be more educated people and are able to take on better jobs to increase the income of the whole country. Therefore, I feel that there is more advantages to one child policy in China than disadvantages. Although there are mothers who are left heartbroken after being forced to abort her child, there will be less people who are out there suffering from starvation.Poverty In Sinagpore
In Singapore, hardly any citizens need to face poverty. Poverty in Singapore grew from 16% in 2003 to 28% in 2013. However, there are no Singaporeans that have to face extreme hunger because the government assist and provide money for the poor. School items or school fees are also subsidized for children and teenagers. Again, this make me feel extremely thankful that Singapore's government is doing its part and caring for the citizens in the country. The condition in the picture is much more severe than in Singapore because the country's government is neglectful and the poor might have to go without food for more than a week.Poverty In Singapore
Poverty In Africa
There is a big difference between poverty in Singapore and poverty in other countries, for example, Africa. In the first picture, the old man is sitting down on the floor, apparently begging for money. Although he is homeless, he has proper clothing, a mat to sit on, and a bag to put his belongings. However, in the second picture, the small children do not have proper clothing, no proper place to rest, and also no clean food to eat or drink. The old man in the first picture can receive money from kind hearted passers-by and be able to eat something to survive his day. On the other hand, the children in the second picture are sitting down on a bank of a muddy, almost dried up valley, drinking unclean water to survive their day. They are also unable to beg for money because the surrounding people are also trying to survive for themselves, and besides, hardly anyone go by these areas. Thus, I feel that poverty in Singapore in not as bad as poverty in other countries because with the government and the other citizens, they can help the poor in Singapore while in Africa, there is no one to help them.CID 23/1/15 reflection
In March 1993, photographer Kevin Carter made a trip to southern Sudan, where he took now iconic photo of a vulture preying upon an emaciated Sudanese toddler near the village of Ayod. Carter said he waited about 20 minutes, hoping that the vulture would spread its wings. It didn’t. Carter snapped the haunting photograph and chased the vulture away. (The parents of the girl were busy taking food from the same UN plane Carter took to Ayod). The photograph was sold to The New York Times where it appeared for the first time on March 26, 1993 as ‘metaphor for Africa’s despair’. Practically overnight hundreds of people contacted the newspaper to ask whether the child had survived, leading the newspaper to run an unusual special editor’s note saying the girl had enough strength to walk away from the vulture, but that her ultimate fate was unknown. Journalists in the Sudan were told not to touch the famine victims, because of the risk of transmitting disease, but Carter came under criticism for not helping the girl. “The man adjusting his lens to take just the right frame of her suffering might just as well be a predator, another vulture on the scene,” read one editorial.
Carter eventually won the Pulitzer Prize for this photo, but he couldn’t enjoy it. “I’m really, really sorry I didn’t pick the child up,” he confided in a friend. Consumed with the violence he’d witnessed, and haunted by the questions as to the little girl’s fate, he committed suicide three months later.
In today's lesson, I learnt that there are many suffering people out in the world. In this picture taken by Kevin Carter, he was criticized for not helping the girl, however, I feel that others should not criticize him so. This is because he had the intention of helping the child, but did not take action because he was told not to touch the famine victims. He was merely following instructions. Furthermore, if he approached the child to take care of her, but in the end fails to take care of her properly, she might die and it might appear as his fault for her death. The vulture in the picture was waiting until the child could no longer move, or when the child die, then the vulture would start to feed on her.The first word I thought of when I saw this photo was Starvation. There was no food, no water, and hardly any life. The child, because of the lack of food and nutrients, is so skinny that her bones could be seen. She must be suffering a lot from the hunger. This makes me really grateful for my life in Singapore as we probably would never have to face starvation. I feel that we should not take things for granted and appreciate everything we have right now.
Today, we were shown pictures of the two beggars. One was a man who was sitting down on a mat begging for money with a sign in his hands stating that he was robbed. The second was a picture of a lady with a child approaching a man. When we were asked who we will donate to, I chose the lady because the lady has a child and she needs to properly bring up the child. Furthermore, the lady is walking around to ask for money, as compared to the man who was just sitting down on a mat. When we were told that the man is handicapped by birth and actually made a living by selling things but was robbed and thus needed just a little bit of money to get back on his feet again. Meanwhile, the lady is from a syndicate and people from there go around the streets pretending to be injured or carry a baby and pretends that she needs to bring the child up. Foreigners give money out of compassion and sympathy and thus, these women earn their living by cheating others, and most of the money goes to the syndicate. However, after hearing this statement, I decided that I still would choose to donate to the lady. This is because the lady might not have any other choice to earn money other than cheating others and thus join a syndicate to cheat other's money. It is also possible that if they do not get a certain amount of money, they might get beaten and perhaps sold to others. Furthermore, women cannot be employed to do physical labour and thus, women who are not educated cannot find a job, thus leaving them no choice but to deceive others. I am also sure that they do not want to cheat others of their money.
My End-Of-Year Holidays Activities and What I Learnt.
During my end-of-year holidays, I did not go overseas but still had an enjoyable time taking a proper break from the stressful days of school life and the end of year examinations. My family actually planned to visit Japan but due to my mother being unsatisfied with my results, we did not travel. During the holidays, I spent most of my time watching anime and reading Japanese comics (manga). I also spent a lot of time on my CCA, volleyball with 3 trainings per week from 8am to 1pm. The rest of the time was spent on doing my December holidays homework. My mother's job is tiring and her job requires her to travel around Asia frequently. The only time we went on a proper outing was to the River Safari, which includes my mother, my sister, my grandmother, my aunt and I. I also remember this memorable Zumba lesson that my mother forced me to join.Personally, I did not really enjoy my trip to the River Safari. We saw animals like flamingos, snakes, insects, fishes and even crocodiles, but I was not really interested into these kind of animals as I would rather go to the zoo and see tigers, zebras and giraffes. However, I really appreciated the fact that my mother took time out of her busy schedule to spend time with us. It was an important outing to strengthen out family bond.
I especially remember the time when my mum forced me to join Zumba classes with her. I was not used to the dancing and not only was it boring, I also embarrassed myself a lot! On the other hand, I did not regret trying out these classes because I gained experienced on what is Zumba and also tried out new things!
For almost 3/4 of the whole day during December holidays, I spent them on watching anime and reading manga. Many people think that anime are "just cartoon" and are "meaningless", "childish" and "boring". I must deny this common thinking of anime and manga. Almost all anime have an important lesson and point behind each story. They can teach you important values through an entertaining and interesting plot. Through anime, I have learnt from the character's attitude that we should always do everything at our best, never give up and persevere. This anime called "Skip Beat" emphasize a lot on never giving up. The main character faces a lot of difficulty while striving to be a top actress, but she never once gives up. No matter how difficult the situation gets, she would give everything her best and never runs away from the problem. I find her attitude really inspiring because in our daily lives, we could apply this value when we face difficulty, like school stress, family problems and such. From anime, we can also learn the importance of friendships, how to maintain a friendship and how to differentiate between true friends and fake friends. Furthermore, comical scenes are added into the anime. Thus, the anime does not become a boring show, but instead, is a form of entertainment with an interesting plot and also a hidden morale behind the story.( through character's attitude )
Due to so many training sessions, I met up with my volleyball friends almost everyday.
My volleyball friends and I go through many difficulties together like not being able to play well, or not being able to satisfy the coach. Together, we resolved to improve ourselves and thus strengthened our bond as a team. As time went by, we got closer to each other and out teamwork also improved a lot. The encouragements by my CCA friends were very important to me as I was quite poor at playing and thus was scolded the most by my coach. I realized how important friendships were and finally learnt how to treasure my friends through this experience during December holidays.
